In 1980 Dr. Barry and Dottie Culberson felt God urging them to leave their church in Lexington, Kentucky, and come to Knoxville to start a new church. By faith they left their beautiful new home and brought their one-year-old daughter to a city where they knew no one. The Knoxville Christian Center's first service at the Ramada Inn was attended by only 28 people. It seemed improbable that a church in this city, with such a small congregation, could impact Knoxville with its message. But within a short time this small church was doing the

unlikely. KCC, led by Pastor Barry, began reaching out to the community through free contemporary Christian music concerts. His radio broadcast "Walk In Victory" was aired every weekday on radio. The church grew rapidly. In 1990 KCC decided to begin each year with 21 days of Fasting and Prayer, and since that time the church has experienced an even greater move of the Holy Spirit. In 1998 the church received donations totaling $1.6 million, enabling the congregation to expand the auditorium to seat over 2,000! This expansion has enabled Knoxville Christian Center to offer even greater outreach possibillities to the East Tennessee area. Multitudes of people have been reached for Christ over the last 26 years through our outreach ministries.
Our Giant Vacation Bible schools annually have over 1,600 enrolled by bussing in children from a ten mile radius of Knoxville. Over 800 decisions were made for Christ during this year's 2006 VBS!
Thousands attend our Christian Family Nights concerts yearly. We promote one, and many times two, concerts a month. Our goal since 1982 in sponsoring Christian music concerts has been to bless the Christian community and to win people to the Lord. As a result, multitudes have heard and accepted Jesus as their Savior over the last 26 years.
All of the ministries at the Knoxville Christian Center have a common objective - to reach the lost with the Gospel. This is our heart. This is our calling.
The combined efforts of all our outreach ministries continue to produce a great harvest of souls. We invite you to join arms with us as we "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation."
